Mr Robot Season 3 Everything You Need To Know
Mr. Robot season 3 is coming soon, we review the release date, trailers, cast and everything else you need to know about Elliot and the fsociety.
Mr. Robot - Quick Recap
Mr. Robot is an American drama–thriller television series created by Sam Esmail. It stars Rami Malek as Elliot Alderson, a cybersecurity engineer and hacker who suffers from social anxiety disorder and clinical depression. Alderson is recruited by an insurrectionary anarchist known as "Mr. Robot", played by Christian Slater, to join a group of hackers called "fsociety". The group aims to destroy all debt records by encrypting the financial data of the largest conglomerate in the world, E Corp.
The series follows Elliot Alderson, a young man living in New York City, who works at the cyber security company Allsafe as a security engineer. Constantly struggling with social anxiety disorder, dissociative identity disorder and clinical depression, Elliot's thought process seems heavily influenced by paranoia and delusion. He connects to people by hacking them, which often leads him to act as a cyber-vigilante. He is recruited by a mysterious insurrectionary anarchist known as Mr. Robot and joins his team of hackers known as fsociety. One of their missions is to cancel all consumer debt by destroying the data of one of the largest corporations in the world, E Corp (which Elliot perceives as Evil Corp), which also happens to be Allsafe's biggest client. It's a bit more complex than that but definietly one of our favorite shows at Industry Design.
The pilot premiered on multiple online and video on demand services on May 27, 2015 and the second on July 13, 2016.
The 10-episode third season will premiere on October 11, 2017.
Mr. Robot has received critical acclaim and has been nominated for and won multiple awards, including the Golden Globe for Best Television Drama Series and was recognized with a Peabody Award. In 2016, the series received six Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series with Malek winning for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
Mr Robot returns for Series 3 October 11 2017
The wait is finally over and Mr Robot is back on our screens this autumn. Sam Esmail will once again direct every episode of the season, as he did during season 2.
The last we saw of Mr. Robot, hacker Elliot Alderson was hurt with a gunshot wound. He’d been shot by the Tyrell Wellick, straight after it had been revealed that his pesky alter-ego/father, Mr. Robot himself, was planning to destroy E-Corp’s physical databases and throw the world into disarray.
Where will season 3 begin after this massive cliffhanger? We hope we will have some clarity although the Season 3 trailers do reveal some of what happened at the end of Season 2 so if you watch them be prepared to be teased.
The first trailer for Season Three debuted on August 4 and features Leonard Cohen’s iconic ‘Democracy’ spoken word piece.
The trailer features no dialogue but does give us the first glimpse at a new character played by Vinyl actor Bobby Cannavale.
Other notable take-aways from the trailer include Malek’s Elliot Anderson looking panicked and touching his mouth, Carly Chaikin’s Darlene looking particularly upset about something and Grace Gummer’s Dominique DiPierro holding a gun.
Then as a further teaser and a lot more details on August 31 a second trailer dropped. which reveals that Elliot doesn’t remember how he got shot, more threats from the Dark Army, and Tyrell Wellick finding his relationship with Elliot under strain.
Pretty cool and exciting !
What we know about Season 3 Mr Robot
Rami Malek returns as Elliot Alderson, despite getting shot in the closing moments of season two. It's no spoiler to see he's alive ( see the trailers ) and it's no surprise to see the programmer-cyber terrorist is still involved in a conspiracy that goes deeper than any other character in this show understands. That's the basis of the show and Elliot ain't going nowhere soon, as we expect at least another 1 and maybe 2 seasons.
We’re also told season 3 will explore :
Christian Slater, Grace Gummer, Carly Chaikin and Portia Doubleday all return for more with creator Sam Esmail back holding total control over his series as director of every episode. The biggest new addition to the cast comes in the form of Bobby Cannavale as a "laconic, no-nonsense used car salesman."
So October 11 Mr Robot will drop weekly on Amazon Prime and we can't wait !
